About Me

Publication4

My passion is to serve those who are looking for fulfillment, healing, and more joy in their lives. Through the therapeutic process I aim to empower individuals and families to discover and utilize their own personal strengths to overcome obstacles and struggles. As a therapist I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families who have experienced many difficulties including severe trauma, depression, anxiety, self-harm, guilt and shame, suicidal ideation, attachment barriers, and loss. I allow individuals and families to guide the therapy process while I assist in providing insight, feedback, and encouragement.

My Approach

In working with children I often utilize play therapy techniques, and I incorporate the family unit as a whole in sessions. I focus on healthy attachment and communication among all family members. I also encourage the practice of self care with all individuals I am privileged to work with.

Because of my background in yoga, I oftentimes incorporate the use of mindfulness and breath work in counseling sessions. My approach to therapy is through working with the individual as a whole so that healing is experienced in body, mind, and spirit. The individual is truly the expert in his/her life, and so I allow the client to guide me in what will be most helpful and supportive throughout our sessions together.

My History

I have been practicing as a therapist for over 15 years. I am licensed in the state of Arizona as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-14134), and I also hold credentials as a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S). I have served several years on the Arizona Association for Play Therapy Board, and I held the position as President of the Board from 2014-2015. I have been trained as a Registered Yoga Instructor since 2013 (RYT 500), and I use this practice daily to help bring joy and peace into my own life.
